Designed to remove and replace a wide variety of SMD components, these hot air
rework stations provide consistent and accurate temperature control utilizing a 400W
focused convection handpiece with integrated temperature sensor and unique air
stream outlet. Stainless steel nozzles (not included) direct heated air onto component
leads while preventing unwanted heat from affecting neighboring components. Internal
diaphragm pump, with easy-to-read meter, generates variable airflow from 5 to 20
liters/min. Auto cool-down function engages when stop button on hot air handpiece is
pressed. A lock-out key card is supplied to guard against unauthorized changes to tip
temperature and process parameters once they are set using the keypad. Other
features include integrated push-button hot air switch on handpiece, and built-in power
save feature (after a pre-selected 30 or 60 minutes of non-use). There are two models
to choose from. Model FR802 provides digital temperature display and generates hot
air output of 212°F to 930°F with closed loop heater control. Model FR803 is similar to
Model FR802, but also incorporates a built-in vacuum pickup with a range of 5 to 20
liters/min. This unit can operate in MANUAL mode (for simple operation) or AUTO
mode (for programmable process control). In AUTO mode, one of 50 programmable
3-step rework profiles can be used to control both temperature and time. The profiles
are stored in the unit's memory, allowing for easy recall and consistent operation.
Push-button switches for heat and vacuum pickup are built right into the handpiece.
All three models are ESD-safe and operate on 120VAC. Hot air nozzles must be
purchased separately.
Several optional accessories can enhance the capabilities of FR Series SMD rework
stations. The Model FR820 preheater features closed loop variable temperature
control from 302°F to 572°F. The Model C1390C OmniVise™ holds any PC board size
easily, safely and securely by utilizing a unique design which allows 360° use at any
of five adjustable heights. The Model C1391B nozzle tray (not shown) can hold up to
nine spare nozzles and features two nozzle assembly slots to remove hot nozzles
from the handpiece or hold a different nozzle for attaching to the handpiece. The
Model C1392B handpiece fixture simplifies repetitive component removal and
installation. It features rack-and-pinion action for smooth vertical slide and delta theta
capability which allows operator to visually align the nozzle to the component without
moving the handpiece in its holder.
