Designed specifically for use at soldering stations, the HJ3100 extracts contaminated air directly at the source. This contributes to a healthier and more productive work environment, and assists in achieving recom-mended health and safety requirements for local exhaust ventilation and contaminant removal. The HJ3100 is a high-mass flow, low vacuum system. A thermally protected, brushless motor generates air flow of 150 CFM which captures contaminated air from the workplace by a moveable nozzle or hood surrounding the soldering station. The contaminated air is then transferred to the HJ3100 by flexible ducts. Two filters within the unit comprise three stages of filtering to remove air contaminants from large particles to as small as 0.01 micron. The purified air is then returned to the area where the HJ3100 is located. A polyester pre-filter acts as the initial screening device and removes relatively large particles from the air stream. A HEPA filter then removes contaminants as small as 0.01 micron, the irritating particles that contribute to allergies and asthma. An activated carbon filter complements the HEPA filter and absorbs nearly all organic and inorganic vapors passing through the filter.This three-stage filtering has an efficiency of 98% for a particle size of 0.3 micron or larger. The HL3100 system is extremely flexible and does not require any permanent plumbing. Simply choose one of the two self-contained filtration units (2-port P/N HJ3001, 4-port P/N HJ3100-05), and select one or more ESD-safe nozzle/hood kits. The only control for the HJ3100 is a power switch. This lightweight and compact unit is ESD-safe, operates on 115VAC, weighs just 18 lbs., and generates low noise of 60dBA.
