Used to easily free components, desolder plated-through holes, prevent shorts by removing solder bridges, and clean etched scripts for positive identification. Advanced braid design is produced using oxygen-free and oil-free, fine gauge copper wire. It has a strong capillary action that works instantly to pull in excess solder. In addition, the large surface area created by the one-over, one-under construction enhances absorption and trapping of molten solder. Tech Spray offers three types of desoldering braid. Pro Wick is coated with pure rosin flux which conforms to MIL-F-142560D Type R, NASA specification NHB5300.4, NPC200-4 and SP-5002. No-Clean Wick was developed to meet the demands of no-clean environments. The minimal residue left after desoldering is inert and non-conductive, eliminating the need for board rinsing. Unfluxed Wick is ideal for customers that use water soluble flux, or their own flux. All rolls are packaged in ESD-safe, static-dissipative bobbins.
