These small, lightweight, AC-powered tools incorporate a uniquely shaped nichrome heating element, which heats up in less than 5 seconds. Low mass, guarded element minimizes risk of burns, eliminates nicks and broken strands of conductors, and reduces lead pull on sensitive components. Three models are available. Model PTS10 heats to 450°F with power consumption of only 3W, and strips thermoplastic insulation from solid, stranded or shielded wires in the range of 14-30 AWG. Model PTS30 heats to 1700°F with power consumption of 40W, and strips high temperature insulation, including Teflon, from solid, stranded or shielded wires from 16-30 AWG. Model PTS50 heats to 450°F with power consumption of only 8W, and strips coaxial-type cables such as RG-58, RG-59, RG-62, etc.
