These one-component, ready-to-use, paste adhesives cure to a tough, resilient silicone rubber on exposure to atmospheric moisture at room temperature. They offer primer-free adhesion to many substrates, provide excellent electrical insulation properties, and withstand exposure to harsh environments without cracking, crumbling, hardening, or drying out. Two formulas to choose from. Translucent, acetoxy formula RTV108 is ideal for general purpose bonding, sealing, electrical insulation, and formed-in-place gaskets. It can be applied to vertical or overhead surfaces without dripping, and cures rapidly with a tack-free time of under 30 minutes. White, alkoxy formula RTV162 is recommended for sealing and bonding electronic components onto PC boards, and protecting copper connections on electronic parts assemblies. Tack free time of RTV162 is 4 hours. Both sealants are packaged in 10.1-oz. cartridges and can be dispensed by using simple mechanical caulking guns or air-operated guns.
