Two models to choose from. General purpose Model PB1 is ideal for routine "go/no-go" testing of wires, cables, connectors, LEDs, fuses, switches, diodes, rectifiers, transistors, etc. It has a probe voltage of 9V, short circuit current of 5mA, and generates no high current surges like those caused by lamp or buzzer-type testers. Low power Model LP1, with a probe voltage of only 0.2V, generates 0.1 mA short circuit current through a conductor (zero current through a semiconductor), and is safe for use on all voltage sensitive CMOS circuits. Its low input impedance will not respond to resistances greater than 1000W, eliminating false readings caused by measuring through a component. A built-in 3.5kHz piezo-electric oscillator allows both units to generate a clear audible signal that can be heard over background noise. Each continuity tester comes with test probes and requires a 9-volt battery (not included). An optional RS-232 test lead adapter (for Model PB1 only) fits over test probe tip, and has male and female RS-232 pins to allow testing of computer cables. Model PB1 measures 3-1/2"H x 2-1/2"W x 1-1/4"D, and weighs 4 oz. Model LP1 measures 4"H x 3"W x 1-1/2"D, and weighs 5 oz.
