These digital multimeters have logging and graphing capability that enable users to quickly document design performance and see trend information directly on the meter display without waiting to download logged readings to a PC. A large 50,000-count 1/4 VGA display with a white backlight can simultaneously display multiple sets of measurement information. Logging function with TrendCapture plots measurements as a single line to help detect anomalies over time, storing up to 10,000 readings. Using on-board TrendCapture, you can graphically view logged readings on the meter. Users can set the meter up for unattended monitoring in the field and review logged readings without access to a PC. These meters include context-sensitive onboard help screens and customizable instrument setup designed to save time and increase productivity. Just select a measurement function, then press the “i” button for instant access to on-board help screens. Multiple save options and automatic time stamping allow for convenient recall of measurements made in the field. Optional FlukeView® forms PC software enables users to document, store and analyze individual readings or a series of measurements, and then convert them into professional-looking reports. For accurate measurement on complex signals or non-linear loads, these DMMs have true-rms voltage and current functionality, with ac bandwidth specified to 100kHz. They have 0.025% basic dc accuracy and a 100mF capacitance range, and are capable of measuring up to 10A (or 20A for 30 seconds). They include a temperature function, relative mode that removes test lead resistance from low ohms or capacitance measurements, and peak capture to record transients as fast as 250ms. High end Model 289 adds additional features. Its LoZ low input impedance prevents false readings due to ghost voltage, and can be used to test for live power. A low pass filter helps make accurate voltage and frequency measurements on adjustable speed motor drives and other electrically noisy equipment. Model 289’s two-terminal 50-ohm range with 1 milliohm resolution and 10mA source current is useful for measuring and comparing differences in motor winding or contact resistance. The meter withstands hazardous 8,000V spikes caused by load switching and faults on industrial circuits, and complies with second edition IEC and ANSI electrical safety standards. Both models are field upgradeable and come with TL71 test leads, probe holder, (2) AC72 alligator clips, and (6) AA batteries.
