Measures voltage on one or two people wearing dual conductor wrist straps (3M brand only). Monitor is small, compact and versatile in its usage, and may be mounted directly onto device handling equipment, testers, and auto insertion equipment. Housed in static dissipative plastic, monitor works by measuring voltage potential on a person referenced to earth ground. Slide switch allows user to select the voltage level necessary for the specific job function being performed (1V and 3V levels for highly critical applications such as disk drive and wafer fabrication manufacturing; 6V and 9V levels for less sensitive work areas such as PCB assembly). A green light indicates that the unit is "on" and that all mounted connections are within set limits. An alarm will sound with corresponding red flashing lamps when an operator's static voltage level exceeds the selected voltage limit. In addition, a contact detection circuit lets the user know if the wrist band is being worn incorrectly or if there has been a loss of continuity in the ground cord. The audible alarm can be adjusted to a low or high level to overcome background noise. Monitor comes with 120VAC adapter, grounding wires and mounting plate. Optional stand-by jack (P/N 3057) allows operator to unplug wrist strap when leaving station without activating alarm. 3M brand dual conductor wrist bands and ground cords must be ordered separately.
