Position Description:
HMC Electronics is seeking motivated and proactive individuals who thrive in a team environment for our Canton, MA location. As part of the sales team, a Sales Associate’s primary objective is to generate incremental business through proactive selling and profiling. This position involves managing and growing existing and prospective accounts through good phone techniques. This is an excellent opportunity for aggressive, self-starters who are looking to begin a successful career in business-to-business sales.
Overall Responsibilities:
- Initiating and maintaining sales and service contacts with customers.
- Qualifying prospects for purposes of market maintenance and penetration.
- Generating incremental business through targeted telephone selling of specific products.
- Implementing account sales strategies, pricing orders, and preparing quotations.
Specific Tasks:
- Conduct initial and follow-up telephone calls to accounts to build a relationship required to maintain repeat business.
- Qualify established accounts as to type and frequency of contact required to sell and service customer needs.
- Qualify sales prospects as to type of account, needs, products used, and sales potential.
- Establish and maintain callback-frequency schedules by account.
- Gather and record customer information required to sell and service customers.
- Compile quotations from standard price lists or other sources using established procedures.
- Take and process orders; edit orders including price check, discount check, terms and conditions, and minimum-order quantities.
- Initiate correspondence as required including emails and faxes to customers.
- Select and mail appropriate literature to customers.
- Coordinate with management on implementation plans and results, including special promotional campaigns and overall telephone sales results.
- Coordinate with warehouse on shipping schedules, carriers, pickups, inventory availability and lead times.
Specific Requirements:
- Above average PC literacy including experience with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and automated order entry systems.
- Prior use of CRM (Contact Relationship Management) software (i.e. ACT, Salesforce.com, TeleMagic, Goldmine, etc.).
