Ideal for applications that require ESD protection. There are two choices for upholstery fabric. Static-dissipative blue Microcon vinyl has a surface resistivity of 5.3 x 10⁶ ohms/sq. Decay time (from 5000V to zero) is 0.01 seconds, and resistance-to-ground is 4.7 x 10⁷ ohms. Static-dissipative blue wool/viscose has a volume resistivity of 2.7 x 10⁸ ohms-cm. Decay time (from 5000V to zero) is 0.1 seconds, and resistance-to-ground is 3.0 x 10⁶ ohms. Microtech™ static-safe chairs have all the same mechanical features of BioFit upholstered chairs, including the "soft touch" seat-control mechanism. They come with chrome-plated metal parts, blue conductive fabric, brass-plated grounding chain, and steel floor glides. Optional carbon-impregnated conductive casters replace glides, and add 2″ to seat height.
